Arabica belongs to the family of Rubiaceae, in Vietnamese it is known as “tea coffee” due to its characteristics of small leaves, low stems like tea trees in Vietnam. Arabica is native to southwestern Ethiopia. Then followed the French to Vietnam. This is the first type of coffee grown in our country.
In the coffee family, Arabica has many different varieties and almost all of them are the best coffees. Some names can be mentioned such as: Typica, Bourbon, Caturra, Mundo Novo, Catuai, Catimor, Moka...
Arabica coffee is grown in many areas with altitudes from 1,200 to 1,600m above sea level. The higher it is planted, the better the taste of this coffee. In Vietnam, Da Lat (Cau Dat, Lac Duong, Xuan Truong...) are famous places to grow this delicious Arabica coffee. In addition, Arabica Son La, Quang Tri is also well known.
